THE CARLING BLACK LABEL CUP – 31 JULY

The Soweto Derby pits Amakhosi against the Buccaneers with bragging rights at stake.

From the streets of Soweto to just about every corner of Gauteng, banter and passion fill the hearts of each supporter. There is the added incentive of a cup to play for between these two sides who so desperately want to bring silverware back to their respective clubs.

Chiefs would like to avenge their 2019 loss to Pirates (2-0) and have to win this match because Pirates are the defending champions and they also finished comfortably above Chiefs in the league. Both sides will be fighting for their respective fans who are amongst the most passionate in the country.

Chiefs and Pirates want to return to contest for every trophy SA has to offer. A win here is vital to start their new season off on a winning note.
