The Bafana Bafana and Amakhosi goalkeeper’s sister was tragically killed in a house fire last week.

As a result, Khune was not part of Kaizer Chiefs’ CAF Champions League squad which faced Petro de Luanda from Angola over the weekend.

And the latest news from Naturena is that Khune will not be rushed back as Amakhosi switch focus to the domestic DStv Premiership and their next clash against struggling Maritzburg United.

That match will take place on Wednesday, 10 March.

Kick-off is at 18:00.

After missing several players for the 2-0 victory over Petro de Luanda at FNB Stadium, Hunt did confirm some good news on the player front heading into the week.

“Rama will come back because he was obviously only suspended in CAF. Itu, obviously, we’ve got to give him as much time as we can,” Hunt said during a post-match press conference.

“The strikers (Leonardo Castro and Samir Nurkovic) are going to be touch and go but, I mean, we play on Wednesday so hopefully [it gives them enough time to recover].

“They could never have played [against Petro on Saturday], but hopefully by Wednesday we’ll have one of them back.”
