Andile Jali signed a five-year contract with the Brazilians in June 2018 meaning his deal will only end in mid-2023.
Jali’s future at Chloorkop has been the subject of speculation in recent times, particularly due to his lack of game time – and reportedly large salary.
However, Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi has assured supporters that Jali remains an integral member of the club.

“He is a very important player in the team and it will be sad to lose a player like him in the team,” said Mngqithi after Mamelodi Sundowns’ 4-0 Nedbank Cup Round of 16 win over Polokwane City.
“We know what he is capable of. He has the right level of arrogance that you need in a player that must dominate the midfield and boss everyone around in that space. I think that is one of his major attributes of his game. He is not scared of anyone and is always ready for a fight.”
Andile Jali previously played for Pretoria University, Orlando Pirates and Belgian side K.V. Oostende, and has 44 Bafana Bafana caps to his name.
It remains to be seen whether Jali is part of Mamelodi Sundowns’ line-up when the table-toppers travel to Cape Town to take on Stellenbosch FC in the DStv Premiership on Saturday, 13 March.
Kick-off at the Danie Craven Stadium is at 13:00.
