IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:

  1. Yellow (Level 2) Warning: Disruptive rainfall leading to localized flooding of formal and informal settlements and infrastructural damage as well as disruptions to main roads is expected in the north-eastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal as well as in the Lowveld of both Mpumalanga and Limpopo Province. Yellow(level 1) Warning:Severe thunderstorms with excessive lightning, heavy downpours and abundance of small hail, are expected in places over the extreme north-eastern parts of the Eastern Cape.

Gauteng:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread in the Lowveld extreme east.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread in the extreme east.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Fine and warm to hot becoming partly cloudy with isolated afternoon thundershowers in the east.

Free State:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the north-west. It will be cloudy in the extreme east with scattered showers and thundershowers.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Fog along the coast at first where it will be cool, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but hot in the east, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south-east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south-easterly at first, becoming westerly to north-westerly by the afternoon.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm, with a chance of light rain in the south where it will be cool but isolated thundershowers in the north-east. It will become cloudy in the east by the afternoon.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-westerly north of Cape Columbine until late afternoon, otherwise moderate to fresh southerly to south westerly but easterly to south-easterly along the south coast.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.

Eastern Cape:

The Western halfTemperature: Partly cloudy and warm, becoming cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers.

The Western Half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh south-westerly.

The Eastern halfTemperature: Fog in places south of the escapement at first, otherwise partly cloudy and warm, becoming cloudy in the afternoon with scattered showers and thundershowers.

The Eastern halfWind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Morning fog over the interior, otherwise cloudy and warm to cool with scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread in the east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly to north-easterly.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.
