Ndlovu Youth Choir puts amazing spin on ‘All I Want For Christmas is You’ [video]

The Ndlovu Youth Choir from Limpopo recently put their own spin on a Christmas classic: Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas is You.

Getting into the Christmas spirit with the Ndlovu Youth Choir

On Monday, 4 December the choir released their version of Mariah Carey’s 1994 hit song, ‘All I Want For Christmas is You’, on their Facebook page.

The choir said: “May our performance of Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ be a timely reminder to make this Christmas special for those at risk this year. Stay safe and reach out with love, care, and the spirit of Ubuntu.”

Better than the original

The singer, Pink recently virtually teamed up with SA’s Ndlovu Youth Choir for the latest rendition of A Million Dreams, a song that originally made its debut on The Greatest Showman — Reimagined, a companion album for the 2017 hit movie. For the UNICEF Changemaker 2020 event on 1 December, the artist collaborated with the Ndlovu Youth Choir for a beautiful, soulful rendition that some suggest might even be ‘better than the original’.

According to PopSugar, the choir’s powerful harmonies blend seamlessly with Pink’s distinctive voice in this magical performance that will surely bring you hope and positive vibes.

On YouTube, Pink also said that it was an honour to work with the choir.

“It was an honor to collaborate with the Ndlovu Youth Choir on this new version of A Million Dreams. Although we were thousands of miles apart due to the pandemic, we were connected by UNICEF’s lifesaving mission of putting children first. Join me in supporting UNICEF by donating to their lifesaving work around the world.”
