IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:

  1. YELLOW LEVEL 2 WARNING FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH POSSIBLE STRONG DAMAGING WINDS, HEAVY DOWNPOURS, HAIL AS WELL AS EXCESSIVE LIGHTNING ARE EXPECTED OVER NORTH-WESTERN PARTS OF KZN TODAY.

FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:

  1. Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Richersveld Municipality of the Northern Cape.

Gauteng:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers from the afternoon but scattered in the south.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Fine and warm to hot, but very hot over the Lowveld, becoming partly cloudy over the Highveld with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers in the extreme west and southern parts from the afternoon.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Fine and hot to very hot, becoming partly cloudy in the west with isolated showers and thundershowers in the extreme south west from the afternoon.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and hot with isolated showers and thundershowers.

Free State:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the east

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Fine and cool to warm but hot in places, becoming partly cloudy in the east with isolated showers and thundershowers from the afternoon.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly becoming fresh to strong southerly from afternoon.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Cloudy in the south east, otherwise partly cloudy and cold to cool.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong westerly to north-westerly becoming moderate southwesterly from late evening.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.

Eastern Cape:

The Western halfTemperature: Cloudy and cold with rain and showers along coast.

The Western Half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh south to southwesterly

The Eastern halfTemperature: Cloudy and cold with showers and thundershowers from the afternoon over the interior but rain along the coast.

The Eastern halfWind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh south to south westerly.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm in the west, otherwise cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the north-east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.
