PSL transfer news: Five free agents up for grabs

Expect a few movements in the transfer market, even before the official start of the January window.

Mduduzi Mdantsane

Baroka have parted ways with coach Wedson Nyirenda, as well as one of their star players in Mduduzi Mdantsane.

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly been scouting the midfielder, and his departure from the Limpopo-based side could make a possible move easier.

Pule Ekstein 

Former Kaizer Chiefs man Pule Ekstein’s stay in Azerbaijan has turned out to be an all too brief one, as his contract with Sabah FC was terminated by mutual agreement.

In his second season at the club, he scored three goals with four assists in 13 matches before cut his stay short.

“Sabah FC have parted ways with Hendrick Ekstein. The contract with the South African midfielder was terminated on mutual agreement,” read a statement on the club’s website. “Sabah wishes Ekstein good luck in his future career.”

Emiliano Tade

Injury hampered the Argentine forward’s progress at Mamelodi Sundowns, forcing him to agree to the termination of his contract after less than a year in the country’s capital.

Having been sidelined for the best part of four months, clubs could see him as a bit of a risky pick but, should he overcome his injury challenges, he could be an inspired signing, given his goal-scoring pedigree.

Ovidy Karuru

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Ovidy Karuru was one of AmaZulu’s most important players, but his involvement with the first team was on a slight wane before parting ways with the club.

The Zimbabwean international could be eyeing to extend his stay in the Absa Premiership and might attract interest from other clubs.

Kouassi Kouadja

Former Cape Town City defender Kouassi Kouadja was reportedly spotted training with Orlando Pirates after a quiet departure from the Mother City.

The Ivorian spent a considerable chunk of his stay with the Citizens on the injury list, and may just restart his promising career in the colours of one of the country’s biggest clubs.
