Jesse Clegg announces details for his ‘Speed of Light’ tour in SA
Eager to get back on the road as South African restrictions open up, Jesse Clegg has announced dates for his upcoming annual end-of-year tour which will see him performing around the Eastern and Western Cape in December and January.
A positive approach
The tour follows the successful release of his latest single, Speed of Light, which within a week of being released to radio was charting on stations around the country. Speed of Light is an upbeat pop-inspired track about how life can still hold some inspiring surprises, even at our lowest points. Indicative of these sentiments, the song itself was completed just in time before Jesse had to return back to South Africa due to the looming travel ban.
“This song is about dealing with disappointment and regret and then rediscovering your passion and sense of connection; this tour symbolises exactly that – a culmination of what this year has represented and taking a positive approach moving into the new year,” explains Clegg. “It’s ultimately about how, even at our lowest points, life can still hold some inspiring surprises.”
Clegg wrote and produced the song with Nick Furlong (Avicci, 5 Seconds of Summer, Kygo, Steve Aoki) and Nick Petricca (lead singer of Walk the Moon). The track was mixed by Tim Pagnotta, Grammy-winning producer for Blink 182, Neon Trees and Walk the Moon.
Speed of Light comes on the back of Clegg’s previous chart-topping hit, Let It Burn, which marked his first new original music since the release of I’ve Been Looking in March 2018, the first and only collaboration he did with his late father, Johnny Clegg.
