Garlic Beef Roast – The Sunday lunch tradition is here to stay

The Sunday Roast is a global tradition. Family and friends come together to over-eat, drink, chat and be merry. However, the centrepiece is always the food. Especially the well cooked beef, lamb or pork roast. This Garlic Beef Roast will be the star of the show at the next family get-together.

If you don’t have tons of time to do a slow roasted meal, this Garlic Beef Roast is done in just over an hour. It gives you plenty of time to prepare all the sides and desserts. This simple recipe is so easy to make. Just slice into the roast, add garlic and seasoning. Then, the cherry on top is wrapping this beauty up in some smokey bacon for extra flavour and texture. Ingredients

• 1 kg beef roast

• 3 fresh garlic cloves, sliced into quarters

• 15 ml olive oil

• 6 slices of bacon

• 15 ml Italian herbs

• salt & pepper

Method

• With a sharp knife, make 6 insertions in the meat, spaced evenly. Fill each insertion with a garlic piece. 
• Mix the olive oil and seasoning. Rub all over the meat. Wrap the bacon over the top of the roast.
• Place the roast in an oven dish. Cover with a lid and cook at a preheated oven, 180 °C, for 30 minutes. Remove the lid and place back in the oven for another 30 minutes.
