Taste summer with this recipe for a Piña Colada Cocktail

This version of the Pina Colada Cocktail is easy to make as you only need 3 ingredients.

What’s more, two of them come from a can and one from a bottle. This means you can have the ingredients at the ready at any time!

There are many versions of this fruity coconut and pineapple drink, which comes from Puerto Rico.

Legend has it that a Puerto Rican pirate boosted his crew’s morale with this coconut, pineapple and white rum drink.

Pina Colada still has that tropical kick, so just a sip can transport you to the mood of summer island holidays.

A sweet treat that may or may not contain alcohol. It all depends on your personal preference.

    Ingredients

    • tin of pineapple (using the pineapple juice is optional)

    • 2 cans coconut milk or cream of coconut

    • 1½ cups of coconut rum liqueur

    Method

    • Freeze 1 can of coconut cream/milk in ice cubes for a more freeze effect.
    • When the ice cubes are ready, get all your ingredients together and put it in a blender.
    • Add as much as you need of each ingredient for the total of people you will be serving.
    • If you want it to be sweeter, add some condensed milk or vanilla ice cream.

    Notes

    • If you want a virgin Pina-Colada Mocktail you can follow the same instructions without adding the rum.
