How To Make Your Own Caramel Flavoured Coffee

Flavoured coffee is a signature drink at many coffee shops. However with the lockdown and the rapid spread of the pandemic we can’t enjoy our favourite coffees like we used to. So I decided to recreate my own version at home.

This coffee recipe is also perfect to use any extra or leftover evaporated milk you may have. Evaporated milk can stand as a substitute for fresh milk and gives a creamier, richer texture.

A quick and easy way to make your own caramel flavoured coffee.

    Ingredients

    • 2 teaspoons of instant coffee

    • sugar

    • evaporated milk

    • caramel essence

    • boiling water

    Method

    • Mix your instant coffee and desired amount of sugar together.
    • Add a drop of caramel essence. Caramel essence is strong so no more than a drop to avoid an overpowering flavor.
    • Add just enough evaporated milk to cover the coffee and sugar. Mix together.
    • Add boiling water.
    • Top with a little more evaporated milk.
