Watch: Shots fired after fight in Johannesburg pizza joint explodes
A late-night visit to this pizzeria in Johannesburg ended in violence for a group of revellers, who were confronted by a firearm once their argument had spiralled out of control. The Andiccio24 outlet saw a man brandish a gun, after an alleged row over pizza toppings almost ended fatally.
Johannesburg pizza argument takes a dark twist
It’s understood that the armed patron argued with staff about getting his order wrong. When he berated and screamed at the workers, customers intervened. However, there was no talking this guy down. A bit of pushing and shoving ensued, cranking up the tension.
The man draws his gun on the group who stood up to him, but the argument seems to de-escalate. After he walks away, the culprit can be seen pulling his firearm out again, waving it towards the crowd. He continues to exit the restaurant, to a chorus of boos and expletives.

Shots fired in the aftermath
The drama continued: Although it wasn’t caught on camera, the suspect is now facing criminal charges after he discharged his firearm outside. It’s believed he fired two shots in the air before speeding away. A police investigation has now been opened against the trigger-happy hot-head.
There’s a suggestion that the Johannesburg man was drunk during the time of his order. His eyes are glazed and he sways on the spot on more than one occasion. If he’s driving off after the altercation, he’ll be lucky if a driving-under-the-influence charge isn’t added to his rap sheet.
It’s since been confirmed by the restaurant owner that the gun-toting customer was angered when his focaccia pizza came without any cheese on. That’s despite him placing the order without requesting the add-on. Staff have since been offered counselling after the traumatic incident.
