Sithebe is reported to have finalised everything with Chiefs, and a three-year deal is believed to have been agreed by both parties.

Now, while McCarthy revealed that Sithebe is still very much in his plans for the current campaign, he also admitted that he wouldn’t stay in his way if the player wanted to leave Usuthu.

McCarthy further hinted that Sithebe might be getting advises from the outside on whether or not to leave AmaZulu for greener pastures.

“Yes, he’s very much part of our plans and the club is working 24/7 to try and sort out the situation but at the end of the day, it’s down to the player,” McCarthy told the media.

“If a player has bigger ambition and he (thinks) elsewhere the grass is greener on the other side, what would you do? Because you don’t want to stand in anyone’s way.

“And that’s because we want what’s best for the football club, we want the best for the players, and we want the best for everyone,” added McCarthy.

“And if a player is getting advice from outside that it’s best to go there than staying here, so be it,” he said.

SITHEBE’S MINOR HEART PROBLEMS REVEALED

In what could be very concerning, McCarthy revealed that Sithebe is having a minor heart problem, and that’s why he missed Usuthu’s final game of 2021 against Orlando Pirates.

McCarthy was dismissing suggestions that he left Sithebe out of his team because he was already on his way to Chiefs.

In the event that Sithebe leaves for Chiefs, McCarthy said AmaZulu will find a replacement, and it would be a young player with hunger and talent.

“We will want this hungry young talent that we can use. So, that’s the situation but he is out with a minor heart problem but he will be 100 per cent when we get back in the new year,” concluded McCarthy.
