1915 | The United States calls on Germany to remove its military and naval allies from the Washington embassy.

2000 | Vicente Fox was inaugurated as president of Mexico, ending the rule of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, which has been in power since 1929.

2009 | Lisbon Convention comes into force. The Lisbon Treaty, which amended the two treaties the Maastricht Treaty and the Rome Statute. This formed the basis of the European Union ‘constitution signed by 13 countries in 2007.
