After six matches in the 2021/22 DStv Premiership season, Amakhosi find themselves down in a lowly 12th place with just six points thanks to just one win, three draws and two defeats.
Worrying for supporters of the club, they have scored just four goals in those matches while conceding eight.
They were also extremely fortunate to draw their most recent outing against AmaZulu after a controversial extra-time penalty handed them a point – and a six-week suspension for the referee!

They will start their post-international break with a home clash against Gavin Hunt’s Chippa United at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, 16 October at 17:30.

Thereafter, Amakhosi face Kaitano Tembo’s second-placed SuperSport United (Sunday, 24 October at 17:30). Matsatsantsa have beaten Kaizer Chiefs twice in the last four PSL matches while the other two ended in stalemates.
Stuart Baxter’s men will then host in-form fourth-placed Stellenbosch FC (Tuesday, 2 November at 17:30) before taking on bitter sixth-placed rivals Orlando Pirates in the season’s first Soweto derby on Saturday, 6 November at 15:30.
Last season the Glamour Boys failed to beat Stellies and they only managed one victory over the Buccaneers in four meetings.
Amakhosi will then travel to KwaZulu-Natal to take on Maritzburg United (Sunday, 21 November at 17:00) – and another former Kaizer Chiefs coach in Ernst Middendorp.
The Team of Choice are currently in 11th place in the standings.
