Severe Weather Alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
- Yellow Level 2 warning for strong interior winds resulting in build-up of sand and loose debris on roads is expected over the eastern parts of the Northern Cape as well as the western parts of the North West and Free State
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:
- Extreme high fire danger conditions are expected over the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, western parts of the North-West and Free State.

Gauteng:
Temperature: Hot in the north, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers in the southwest.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.
Mpumalanga:
Temperature: Hot in the Lowveld, otherwise fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.
Limpopo:
Temperature: Fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon
North-West Province:
Temperature: Fine in the eastern half at first, otherwise partly cloudy, windy and warm with isolated thunderstorms except in the north east.
Free State:
Temperature: Partly cloudy, windy and warm with isolated thunderstorms, except in the west.
Northern Cape:
Temperature: Partly cloudy in the east where it will be windy, otherwise fine and warm but cold to cool in the south. Morning fog is expected along the coast.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south-easterly, reaching fresh north of Hondeklip Bay until late afternoon.
Western Cape:
Temperature: Morning fog in places over the West Coast District, otherwise fine and cold to cool but cloudy to partly along the west coast in the morning.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh northerly to north-westerly reaching strong between Yzerfontein and Cape Agulhas, but light to moderate south-easterly to easterly east of Still Bay from the afternoon.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High.
Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Temperature: Fine and warm but partly cloudy and cool along the coast and adjacent interior.
The Western half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be light northwesterly, becoming light to moderate easterly late morning but fresh in the afternoon.
The Eastern half – Temperature: Cloudy along the coast and adjacent interior, otherwise partly cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers in the east.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be light northwesterly, becoming moderate to fresh northeasterly in the afternoon.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Morning fog over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy to cloudy and cool but warm in places in the north. Isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers are expected in the western and southern parts.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly to south-westerly becoming easterly to north- easterly from the south in the afternoon, spreading to the north by evening and freshening in places at times.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.
