ADVISORIES:

  1. An intense cold front is expected to pass through the Eastern Cape on Thursday, with a cut-off low over the Western Cape by Thursday night. The public and small stock farmes are advised that very cold, snowy, wet and windy conditions can be expected in places over the Eastern Cape from Thursday afternoon into Saturday.

Gauteng:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and cool.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Very cold in some places on the Highveld, otherwise cloudy and cold to cool with rain and drizzle over the escarpment and eastern Highveld until the afternoon.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and cool but cloudy in the east with morning drizzle along the escarpment where it will be cold.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Fine and cool to warm.

Free State:

Temperature: Cloudy in the extreme east where there is possible light rain and fog patches in places at first, otherwise fine and cold to cool but partly cloudy in the east.

Northern Cape:

East temperature: Morning fog patches over the southern interior, otherwise fine and cold to cool. Morning frosty areas are expected over the interior.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Morning fog patches expected over the north-eastern interior, otherwise fine and cold to cool, with frosty areas over the interior.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-westerly along the south coast, becoming moderate easterly in the afternoon otherwise moderate to fresh south-easterly.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.

Eastern Cape:

The Western half Temperature: Partly cloudy at first, otherwise cool.

The Western half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly, becoming moderate easterly in the afternoon.

The Eastern half Temperature: Cloudy in some places in the morning, otherwise fine and cool but cold in the north.

The Eastern half Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly, becoming moderate easterly in the afternoon.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Cold in the west, otherwise partly cloudy and cool with isolated morning showers along the coast and adjacent interior.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly, becoming gentle easterly to north-easterly from the south in the late afternoon

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
