Picture | Done deal? Hint ‘Given’ by Swallows boss for Kaizer Chiefs midfielder

Swallows FC chairperson David Mogashoa has given the biggest possible hint over the transfer of Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Given Thibedi with his social media activity on Wednesday evening.

Thibedi had been the subject of intensifying speculation over his future over the last few days, with indications strong that he would soon swap Chiefs for Swallows.

The player’s lack of involvement in Chiefs Carling Cup penalties victory over archrivals Orlando Pirates two weeks ago would’ve also raised eyebrows about the future of Thibedi. This week then started with hints that the player could be set for a sensational return to Swallows and only this time on a permanent deal.

Thibedi had two loan spells at the Dube Birds

Thibedi had previously been at Swallows on loan for two consecutive seasons. His first stint was in the GladAfrica Championship, a campaign that saw him taste his first piece of senior silver in his first season as a senior professional footballer. The 23-year-old skilful midfielder found himself playing an integral part in the Dube Birds league winning campaign and subsequent promotion to the DStv Premiership.

Chiefs then allowed Thibedi to return to Swallows for a second spell, this time in the PSL, as they felt that his development in the topflight was better served at their Soweto rivals. It would prove to be a temporary move that would yield results, as the mercurial star again played a pivotal role for the club in the first round of the league.

Now having concluded the signing of one of Swallows former most prized assets in Njabulo Ngcobo it is believed that the deal may have included player exchanges instead of a straight cash transaction. Swallows had earlier announced the signing of defender Yagan Sasman from Chiefs and it is also believed that Thibedi could be another factor in that particular deal.

Mogashoa confirms players Amakhosi exit?

Whether that proves to be accurate or not, it seems like one thing is for sure Thibedi leaving Chiefs for Swallows is happening and it is imminent. Especially if the picture below from Mogashoa is anything to go by.
