Orlando Pirates latest | Bucs defender makes way for new signing Ndah
Orlando Pirates have decided against keeping one of their promising defenders following the arrival of Nigerian centre-back Olisa Ndah.

Sandile Mthethwa has been sent to Chippa United for a third successive season as the management felt he wouldn’t be getting enough game time at Pirates.
Mthethwa’s return to the Chilli Boys was confirmed by the Gqeberha-based outfit just hours after Pirates had announced Ndah’s signing.

“We’re delighted to announce that Sandile Mthethwa has rejoined the club from Orlando Pirates,” said Chippa United in a brief statement.
“The club is looking to do better than previous seasons. Sandile Mthethwa comes highly-rated by current Chilli Boys coach Gavin Hunt,” added the statement.

Mthethwa was expected to finally get his Pirates break this season after making the bench twice in the club’s three matches thus far.
Mthethwa has been on the books of Pirates for over five years after joining them in January 2016 from the KZN Football Academy.

The 24-year-old defender spent two seasons on loan at GladAfrica Championship side Richards Bay FC between 2017 and 2019.
Upon his return to Pirates in 2019, Mthethwa was sent to Chippa United in order to gain more top-flight experience.
