Healthy Potato Chips – A crispy & golden snack for all

Everything is better when it’s homemade. When it comes to chips, you’re spoilt for choice with options that are extra oily and lots of added preservatives. When you make them yourself, you’ll notice that there are a lot less ingredients for you to worry about. These Healthy Potato Chips are so easy to make and perfect for a snack at home or on the table at your next braai or get-together.

For the thinnest and crispiest results, use a mandoline slicer for the potatoes to get them as thin as possible, just like store-bought chips. Healthy Potato Chips are flavoured with only salt, pepper and parmasan cheese. If you have a low-fat dip for your chips, feel free to use that as well. These wavy golden chips will put a smile on your face every time and they take 10 minutes to prepare and the rest of the time they spend in an oven.

Perfect for an evening snack, braai or lunchbox, Healthy Potato chips are fun to make and always delicious and crispy.

Healthy Potato Chips Recipe

    Ingredients

    • 500 g Unpeeled potato

    • 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil

    • 5 g Salt

    • 5 g Pepper

    • 15 g Parmesan cheese

    Method

    • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
    • Wash and dry the potatoes thoroughly (do not peel)
    • Slice the potato into thin slices.
    • Place onto a baking tray, dab them dry, and drizzle the olive oil on top.
    • Add the salt, pepper and parmesan cheese on top and place into the oven.
    • Bake for approximately 30min or until golden brown.
    • Serve.
