Currie Cup updated standings: Here’s the latest log!

The 2021 Currie Cup has flown under the radar since it kicked off, but if you weren’t aware, the majority of teams in the Premier Division have already played nine – or even 10 – of their 12 round-robin matches.

Such has been the impact Covid-19 and the recent focus on the British & Irish Lions tour that the country’s premier domestic tournament has gone largely unnoticed this season.

Nevertheless, if you do still care about the Currie Cup, here’s the latest log!

The Bulls find themselves at the top of the standings and are ahead of their closest challengers, the Sharks, by four points.

The Cheetahs are rock-bottom in the standings, albeit with a game in hand over several of their rivals.

The next round of matches will take place on Wednesday, 18 August when the Pumas welcome the Bulls to the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit (14:30), while the Cheetahs and Griquas clash in Bloemfontein (16:45). The final match of the day will see Western Province host the Lions at Newlands in Cape Town (19:00).

The Sharks have a bye.
