Wanted in connection with the rape of minors – have you seen them?

Police are seeking the assistance of the public in finding two men in connection with the rape of two minor girls in unrelated cases.

TWO MINOR GIRLS WERE RAPED IN UNRELATED INCIDENTS

Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, police spokesperson said on Monday, 12 April 2021 the first case was reported.

“At approximately 17:00 an 11-year-old girl from Gelvandale was lured from her home in Ibex Street, to a house in Fitchard Road, Gelvandale by a family member.”

Janse van Rensburg said on arriving at the house they went to a shack at the back where her family member left the girl.

“She was then raped by a man known to her. Police are looking for a person known as Warren who may be of assistance in the investigation.”

She said in the second unrelated incident a 13-year-old was raped.

“It is alleged that on Thursday, 08 June 2021 at approximately 21:30, the 13-year-old girl was sleeping over at a friend’s house in the Walmer location.

“After going to bed, they heard noises outside and were told by the men to open the door. They later opened the door and the man -known to her – forcefully removed the girl from the house where after she was allegedly raped.”

Janse van Rensburg said the Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) is seeking the assistance of the communities in tracing the two men.

A 21-year-old woman has been found guilty of two counts of compelled rape and sexual assault in a horror child sex assault case in the East London Regional Court this week. 

NPA Regional spokesperson Anelisa Ngcakani said that the rape crimes took place between 2016 and 2018. 

“The woman, who was 16 years old in 2016, lived in Duncan Village in East London at the time,” Ngcakani said.
