The 26-year-old Zimbabwean international has sealed a move to the defending DStv Premiership champions ahead of the new campaign after proving his worth out in KwaZulu-Natal.
Divine Lunga will also be linking up with his former mentor Steve Komphela who currently acts as Mamelodi Sundowns’ senior coach.
Lunga has been a standard feature for Golden Arrows since joining them in 2018. He’s made 84 appearances for the club while scoring once and assisting four more goals.
Mamelodi Sundowns complete signing of Zimbabwean defender
Sundowns have snapped up the signature of Zimbabwean international Divine Lunga according to local publication FarPost.
Lunga joins Mamelodi Sundowns on a three-year deal and will be competing with the likes of Lyle Lakay, Aubrey Modiba and Tebogo Langerman at left-back.
Modiba and Lakay, arguably two of South Africa’s finest wing-backs at the moment, were both used on a rotational basis during the Brazilians’ bumper local and continental schedule.
It remains to be seen whether Langerman will remain at Mamelodi Sundowns next season after seeing limited game-time during the 2020/2021 campaign.
