Kaizer Chiefs vs Al Ahly: Match officials for CAFCL final revealed

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced match officials for the much-anticipated CAF Champions League final between Kaizer Chiefs and Al Ahly.

Chiefs and Al Ahly will battle it out to be crowned African champions at Stade Mohammed V on TODAY, 17 July.

And Burundi-born referee Pacifique Ndabihawenimana will be the man in charge for the titanic clash in Morocco.

This will not be the first time that Ndabihawenimana officiates a Chiefs match as he did so on two previous occasions this season.

The 36-year-old referee was in charge when Chiefs played to a goalless draw with Premeiro de Agosto at the FNB Stadium in the preliminary rounds.

He was also named the match referee for the quarter-final second leg clash where Chiefs were hammered 3-0 by Simba SC.

Ndabihawenimana will be assisted by Elvis Guy Noupe Nguegoue of Cameroon, and Ugandan assistant referee Lee Okello.

Redouane Jiyed of Morocco will be in charge of VAR, and he will be assisted by two of his countrymen in Zakaria Brinsi and Bouchra Karboubi.
