Amakhosi can still smile all the way to the bank after eight-long months of participating in Africa’s premier club competition.

The defeat means Chiefs have not only missed out on lifting the trophy and winning gold medals, Chiefs also missed out on a R36.4 million prize money.

Despite visibly being disappointed after the final whistle at Stade Mohammed V, Chiefs have a reason to be proud.

Chiefs have ‘won’ millions of their own from the competition as they walk away R18.2 million richer.

Chiefs earned the R18.2 million having played all the matches in the competition (15), recording six wins and suffering just three defeats in the process.

Now, they can look forward to spending the cash on player bonuses and buying new players ahead of the new campaign.
