Orlando Pirates need to sign a clinical finisher
Orlando Pirates have lacked fluency in front of goal this season and will need to sign a clinical finisher to correct this. A consistent striker capable of scoring 15+ goals a season.
The Buccaneers’ attack this season has been a shadow of what fans have come to experience in previous seasons.

Pirates need a striker who is capable of bagging 15+ goals a season, consistently. They need a lethal finisher who will bring their attack some much needed potency.
The Soweto giants only managed three shots on target against against Raja Casablanca this past weekend. Orlando Pirates get the basics right, often controlling possession and territory, but when they get into the opposition box there is no composure.
This is where it truly counts. Goals win games, you can dominate all stats, but at the end of the day the final scoreline is the only stat that counts.
Sea Robbers fans are calling for Josef Zinnbauer to be sacked. Whether he remains in the Pirates dugout remains to be seen.
Regardless, the priority for the man in charge next season will be to sign a forward that can convert this pressure into goals. A man capable of finishing with either foot and punishing the opposition defence.
So who could fulfil this role for the Buccaneers next season?
Thabiso Kutumela is the name that immediately comes to mind. The 27-year-old former Orlando Pirates player previously lacked maturity, but always showed promise. He has now matured into a well rounded finisher for Maritzburg United. He is just the player they need and has been in fantastic form recently.
Kutumela has scored 12 goals in 26 starts with most of them coming this year. Surrounded by the quality midfield talent at Orlando Pirates, he is capable of prolific goalscoring for the side.

He was rewarded for his recent form with new Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos calling him up to the squad.
Bafana Bafana take on Uganda in a friendly international next month. This is a huge opportunity for Kutumela to make a name for himself and be noticed on the international stage. It is an opportunity for him to stake a claim as the answer to Orlando Pirates’ problems up front.
Is a return to Pirates by a more matured Kutumela a good idea?
