Kaizer Chiefs’ CAF Champions League semi-final opponents confirmed!

Kaizer Chiefs will play Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club in the semi-finals of this season’s CAF Champions League.

Amakhosi booked their spot in the last four on Saturday despite going down 3-0 to Simba SC in Dar es Salaam.

Thanks to their 4-0 home win the first leg at the FNB Stadium, Kaizer Chiefs will be playing in the club’s first ever CAF Champions League semi-final.

They will play Wydad Athletic Club who eliminated MC Alger 2-1 on aggregate after a 1-1 draw in Algeria and a 1-0 victory in the second leg in Morocco on Saturday.

The first leg tie will be held on the weekend of 18/19 June in Morocco with the second leg in South Africa the following weekend (25/26 June).

Interestingly, Kaizer Chiefs and Wydad Athletic Club were in the same group earlier in the tournament.

Wydad Athletic Club won their match in Morocco 4-0, while Kaizer Chiefs triumphed 1-0 in their home match.

In the second semi-final, Al Ahly and Esperance Tunis will lock horns.
