Cape Town Spurs winger on the verge of Kaizer Chiefs move
Cape Town Spurs winger Abednego Mosiatlhaga is reportedly on the verge of leaving the Mother City side and joining Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs.
The 26-year-old, who usually operates from the right-wing position, is believed to feel as if he has given everything he possibly could to the GladAfrica Championship side and that the time is now for him to step up from that level.
Although Mosiatlhaga’s deal is set to expire at the conclusion of this season, it is believed that the Cape Town-based club have an option to renew, which could mean Kaizer Chiefs would have to pay a transfer fee.
Mosiatlhaga has a history with Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt
Mosiatlhaga has previously worked with current Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt, which is believed to be a massive plus in his favour. He is also of the impression that Chiefs are the perfect club at the perfect level for him to showcase his talents.
A source speaking to The Citizen substantiated those claims.
What would he add to Chiefs?
“He will add a lot of value at the club, he is a former junior international and has played for Bafana Bafana before. He is actually a good buy because he is still young, but has a lot of experience. He is a player that coach Gavin really wants to have in his squad and they worked together before,” said the source.
The source even went as far as confirming that there has already been dialogue between Mosiatlhaga and Chiefs, but nothing concrete had come from them as of yet.

“I know there has already been discussions, but they weren’t formal because the boy had to focus on finishing the season with his team. Now that it’s over, there will be talks soon, but from what I know is that he wants to play in the DStv Premiership and Chiefs is a perfect team for him,” he continued
Mosiatlhaga is a wanted man
Although Chiefs seem to be in pole position for Mosiatlhaga’s services, the sources left a warning for the Amakhosi.
“Apparently there are other teams who have showed interest in him as well, it’s just a matter of the Chiefs management doing this deal quickly,” he concluded.
