Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila axe top striker for violent conduct

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) has terminated the contract of former Chippa United striker Rhulani Manzini with immediate effect.

Manzini was involved in a fist fight with teammate Alfred Ndengane a few weeks ago, leaving the latter with a bloody scar on his face.

While TTM was expected to take action against Manzini, terminating his contract was never expected.

And that’s because Manzini was new to the team, and the PSL rookies are struggling in their first season in the topflight.

However, TTM liaison manager Rufus Matsena said the the club wanted to set an example against acts of violence within the team.

Matsena hopes the termination of Manzini’s contract will be a lesson to other TTM players that misconduct can get them into trouble.

“This is nothing personal to any of the players affected. We just want to instill discipline in the team and enforce that violence will not be tolerated at TTM,” Mattsena told Daily Sun.

“Acts of misconduct will be treated harshly and I’m sure that other players are learning that misconduct can get you into trouble.”

Manzini, who joined TTM in November 2020, featured 13 times for the team.
