‘The Good Liar’, ‘Little Women Atlanta ‘ and more on DStv this week

With Saturday, 1 May being Worker’s Day, kick back for a relaxing weekend of the best television shows and movies from across the globe.

Start with a plethora of action-packed movies on M-Net (DStv channel 101) and M-Net Movies 2, 3 and 4 (DStv channels 106, 107 and 108). M-Net Movies 3 (DStv channel 107) is giving action fans more reasons to stay indoors with the first Mission Impossible and Rocky movies, while M-Net Movies 4 (DStv channel 108) brings the first of Christopher Nolan’s dark trilogy: Batman Begins.

Arguably one of the top-class comedians and big-screen figures, Eddie Murphy will be taking over TNT ( DStv channel 137) during May. Known for his goofy laugh, genuine unironic moustache and tremendous talent for portraying multiple characters in one film, tune in to some of his best work every Monday at 20:00, starting with the hilarious Bowfinger.

For series fans, don’t miss the premiere of Solar Opposites on Fox (DStv channel 125).The animated adult sitcom from the creators of Rick and Morty centres around a family of aliens from a better world who are stranded in middle America.

There’s also no shortage of good television on the home of Kdrama, tvN Africa (DStv channel 134), either. In Flower of Evil, homicide detective Cha Ji-won starts investigating a serial murder case and finds suspicious links to her husband, Baek Hee-sung. Then tune in for The Bride of Habaek, which follows a narcissistic god as he tries to claim the throne of the Divine Realm. M-Net City (DStv channel 115) also brings us more supernatural entertainment with the return of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Meanwhile, The Connorsand In The Darkboth return to M-Net (DStv channel 101) for light family humour and thrilling investigation, respectively.

There’s also plenty of sporting action in the week ahead. Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns go head-to-head in the DStv Premiership on SuperSport PSL (DStv channel 202) over the weekend, while the UEFA Champions League and Europa League semi-finals will air from midweek on SuperSport Premier League (DStv channel 203), SuperSport Grandstand (DStv channel 201) and SuperSport Variety 3 (DStv channel 208).

MotoGP and Formula One will take over the weekend on SuperSport Motorsport (DStv channel 215) and SuperSport Action (DStv channel 210), while cycling fans can tune into the Giro d’Italia teams presentation on SuperSport Maximo 1 (DStv channel 241) and SuperSport Variety 1 (DStv channel 206). And we haven’t forgotten about the golfers – the Sunshine Tour heads to Cape Town for Days 3 and 4 on SuperSport Golf (DStv channel 213).

Not only was he part of one of the biggest groups in the music industry, but his solo work has also dominated the charts. Through all the glitz and glam of stardom, this music icon and legend also went through some extremely dark days.
