1960 | David Pratt attempted assassination at South African Prime Minister H.F. Verwoerd at the Rand Easter Show in Johannesburg failed.

1999 | Ibrahim Bare Mainassara, Niger president, was assassinated at an airport in Niamey, Niger by his own presidential guard while he was attempting to flee the country.

2005 | The New National Party (NNP) federal council decided to dissolve the party and to join the ANC.
