Algerian side MC Alger and Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs were the final two sides to secure quarter-final berths, while Egyptian side – and last season’s beaten finalists – Zamalek crashed out.
MC Alger secured their quarter-final spot for the first time since 2011 after a 1-1 draw away to Group D winners Esperance de Tunis, while Kaizer Chiefs fought back twice to secure a draw in Guinea against Horoya AC.

Zamalek, who lost to fellow Egyptians Al Ahly last season in the final, were eliminated despite an impressive 4-1 win over Teungueth at the Cairo International Stadium in their final match.
The four seeded group winners will now be drawn against the four unseeded group runners-up at the draw scheduled for Friday, 30 April.
The only proviso is that no team can face a team from their own group in the next round.
The first-leg matches will take place at the unseeded team (14-15 May) with the return legs a weekend later at the home of the seeded teams (21-22 May).
