‘It’s about understanding what has come before you and the famous players who have worn the iconic jersey and those who will come after you. The Lions are regarded as the best of the best and this is the biggest challenge in rugby.
‘Once you’ve been selected, once you’ve played for the Lions, that is something that can never ever be taken away from you.’

The itinerary for the tour still hasn’t been confirmed despite the first match scheduled – at this stage – to be held on July 3, only nine weeks and a day away.
According to reports, all eight matches will be split between just two cities – Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Cape Town is due to hold the first three matches (including the first Test), while Johannesburg will stage the remaining five matches as well as the second and third Tests which are reported to be penciled in for the FNB Stadium to maximise the number of permitted spectators.
