WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger down

No official confirmation

Users in the UK first reported the outage when they were informed the apps are unable to send and receive messages. Facebook’s status page, however, indicated that all platforms are stable with no known or reported issues.

Neither Instagram or WhatsApp have dedicated server status pages at this stage and both teams regularly share updates on their official Twitter accounts. That said, there is no word of an outage on either account.

Follow Instagram and WhatsApp on Twitter for possible updates. There is an official WhatsApp Status account on Twitter as well, but it has been dormant for about seven years now.

This is a developing story; more to follow.
