Kaizer Chiefs keeper Itumeleng Khune caught on camera partying [video]

A video of Itumeleng Khune partying during lockdown has been leaked on social media, and some fans are not too happy!

The Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper can be seen in dancing and quenching his thirst with ‘friends’ at a place of entertainment believed to be Moja Cafe.

While some football fans defended Khune saying he was well within his rights, others slammed him while also questioning the timing of his behaviour given the challenges currently facing Chiefs.

The video surfaced at a time when Chiefs are struggling for positive results – and had just lost 4-0 to Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League.

Unconfirmed reports claim the incident took place on Monday night, just hours after Chiefs’ arrival from Burkina Faso – Chiefs returned from Ougadougou on Monday afternoon.

What’s evident from the video clip is that some people are wearing masks, meaning this is a recent incident.

It is unclear at this stage if the club has come across this Khune video and also what disciplinary measures will be taken against the veteran goalkeeper.

Khune has already been banned from using social media excessively, according to media reports, and this incident could detrimental for him and his Chiefs career.

Khune isn’t the first person to be caught on camera partying during lockdown at Chiefs.

In July 2020, Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung was caught on camera having the time of his life with friends at a house party.

Motaung was handed a one-month suspension by the Chiefs board and resumed his duties in early September 2020.

Furthermore, Khune’s teammate at Bafana Bafana, Bongani Zungu was also suspended by Scottish giants Rangers FC last month for the same offence as the Chiefs goalkeeper and football manager.

Zungu apologised and was allowed to rejoin his Rangers teammates almost two weeks later.

Now, will Chiefs be brave enough to suspend Khune, especially after his improved performances in recent matches?
