Grand Entrance: Trevor Noah gears up for Grammys gig in true rock-star fashion [video]
The South African comedian and The Daily Show Host Trevor Noah is gearing up for hosting the 63rd annual Grammy Awards this Sunday 14 March.
Trevor Noah returns to the studio
In preparation of the big event, Trevor Noah made a grand entrance on James Corden’s late-night talk show in Los Angeles. His entrance on the Late Late Show was marked with fireworks, confetti and some seriously head-banging guitar riffs — much to the mock outrage of James.
“What if I came on your show and did that?!” yells Corden in the sketch, after Noah has finally settled down. “We’d never let this sort of thing happen on my show,” Trevor quips.
Meanwhile, the interview that follows is said to be Trevor’s first in over a year as he has been hosting the Daily Show from his apartment in order to help combat the coronavirus in the United States.

As the interview continues, and after Trevor Noah convinces James he can host The Late Late Show in a hoodie, the two talk about how a young Trevor’s pioneering spirit established him as a key player in the South African CD burning and one-year-old birthday party DJ scenes.
And the Grammys host pines for the music of his day, a time when you would “really listen” to the music.
The 2021 Grammys will be about music
Trevor Noah said the Grammys ceremony would have a “music festival vibe” with parts of the show to be held outdoors. He expected an entertaining show with several performers set to hit the stage, including Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Cardi B and BTS.
“It’s like a jam-session made for you at home,” he said. “It is completely different. I’ve never done anything like it. What I love about it — it is just music.”
