There’s plenty of drama and intrigue leading up to the long weekend. Voor Ek Vergeet on kykNET (DStv channel 144) tells a riveting tale of the relationship between a mother and her son while the fast-paced plot of For Love and Music on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161) will keep you guessing at every turn.

Keep the little ones busy on Saturday afternoon with a fun, fairytale film: The Swan Princess: Kingdom of Music airs on M-Net (DStv channel 101) and has enough adventure and magic for the entire family to enjoy. When Princess Odette decides to host a musical competition to celebrate Princess Alise’s birthday, her plans are put on hold when Princess Mei Li asks for help to free Chen from a curse that has turned him into a dragon.

M-Net’s Sunday night blockbuster doesn’t disappoint either with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence teaming up once more to fight crime on Miami’s streets in Bad Boys for Life. This time around, they join forces with the Miami Police Department’s special team AMMO to take down a ruthless mother-and-son duo of drug lords wreaking havoc. For a family of a different kind, Emmy Award-winning Schitt’s Creek on Comedy Central (DStv channel 122) sees funnyman Eugene Levy (American Pie) star in a sitcom about a wealthy family gone bankrupt. After being defrauded by their business manager, the family move to their remaining asset, a town called Schitt’s Creek, where hilarity ensues.

And there’s also plenty of real-life stories on BBC Earth (DStv channel 184) and CBS Reality 9 (DStv channel 132) with Attenborough’s Journey and Coast Guard: Mission Critical, respectively. In Attenborough’s Journey, follow acclaimed broadcaster Sir David Attenborough as he reminisces on his globe-trotting adventures from his 50-year career while Coast Guard: Mission Critical gives us an inside look at the men and women protecting America’s borders from illicit activities while saving those in peril at sea.
