Kaizer Chiefs: Katsande and Nurkovic to face Horoya, Mathoho ruled out

And there were concerns that he could be out of action for some time.

However, he has been cleared by the medical team to face Horoya, and the news will come as a big boost for the struggling Amakhosi side.

Nurkovic, on the other hand, limped off the pitch with 10 minutes to go against SuperSport, and he was subsequently replaced by Lazarous Kambole.

His return will also be a welcome relief to the technical team as they had already started playing the Serbian marksman alongside Leonardo Castro upfront.

Meanwhile, as this has been the case all season long, Amakhosi reported that five of their players will be unavailable for this CAF Champions League Group C encounter.

Erick Mathoho, who has just come back from a family bereavement, will not take part in the match due to injury, the club said.

Also unavailable is Happy Mashiane, who had to be replaced five minutes into Chiefs’ 2-1 loss to AmaZulu last week.

Dumisani Zuma and Khama Billiat are still not ready to compete for their places in the starting line-up as they are recovering from injuries.

Lastly, Kgotso Moleko is still held up by family commitments, and it is unclear as to when he will be back in contention for the Soweto giants.
