IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:

FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:

  1. Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over Kamiesberg in the Northern Cape as well as Cederberg, Langeberg and Swartland Municipalities in the Western Cape.

ADVISORIES:

  1. Extremely hot conditions are expected over West Coast District of the Western Cape as well as Kamiesberg Municipality in the Northern Cape.
  2. Heat wave of persistently high temperatures is expected over southern West Coast and the southern Cape Winelands, Atlantis, Strand and the Theewaterskloof in the Western Cape, as well as Kamiesberg municipalities in the Northern Cape until Monday.

Gauteng:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High.

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Cloudy in the east with morning fog along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the east.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south-west and south.

Free State:

Temperature: Cloudy at times and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the south.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Hot in the south, otherwise cloudy at times and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be Fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Fine and warm to hot but partly cloudy in the northern areas with isolated thundershowers. It will be very hot along the west coast with high discomfort and heat waves conditions.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly to south-easterly but gale between Table Bay and Hermanus.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.

Eastern Cape:

The Western halfTemperature: Fine and hot but partly cloudy over the interior with isolated afternoon thundershowers but scattered in the north.

The Western Half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be Light easterly to south easterly.

The Eastern halfTemperature: Fine and warm to hot but partly cloudy in the north. Isolated afternoon thundershowers are expected but scattered in the northern interior.

The Eastern halfWind: The wind along the coast will be light easterly becoming moderate north-easterly.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Morning fog in places over the interior, otherwise cloudy at times and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh easterly to north-easterly.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.
