Watch: Little girl thinks everything is a hand sanitiser station [video]

When 2020 and 2021 are all about wearing a mask, keeping an appropriate social distance, and washing or sanitising your hands constantly, it can quickly become a habit.

It is said that any habit develops from acting it out multiple times. In the same way we are conditioned to brush our teeth first thing in the morning and last thing at night, we must all adopt new hygiene habits if we hope to prevent a rampant spread of COVID-19.

Taking hygiene seriously

JacarandaFM reports that children under the age of five are not required to wear a mask but they do get the opportunity to sanitise their hands in public. And now a little girl – who watched her family use hand sanitising stations – is routinely santitising herself.

In a Facebook video, the little girl can be seen thinking everything is a sanitising station. From lamps, power boxes, plugs, and even differently-coloured bricks, are hand sanitising stations for her.

“When your first year of life is 2020, everything is a hand sanitizing station…” Katie Lightfoot from Texas captioned the now-viral video.

How to use hand sanitiser during COVID-19

Along with washing your hands frequently with soap and water, hand sanitiser will help stop the spread of COVID-19, writes Nosa. So when is it good to use hand sanitiser?

“Hand sanitiser is usually more convenient when you are outside of your house. If you don’t have access to soap and running water, use hand sanitiser that contains at least 60% alcohol as the next best option.  It is important to wash your hands as soon as possible when you do have access to handwashing facilities, and avoid contact with people and surfaces in the meantime.”
