Pitso Mosimane accused of ‘destroying’ rising Al Ahly star

Pitso Mosimane has been accused of destroying rising Al Ahly star Mohamed Sherif by club legend Ahmed Bilal.

Former Al Ahly striker Ahmed Bilal believes Pitso Mosimane’s attitude towards 24-year-old striker Mohamed Sherif will destroy the player mentally.

Mohamed Sherif scored four goals in his first six appearances after returning from a loan spell however Mosimane has since opted to sign and field Zambian attacker Walter Bwalya.

Pitso Mosimane attacked for benching rising star

Since the arrival of Bwalya, Sherif has featured for just 33 minutes in Al Ahly colours and Belal believes eating ice on the sidelines will affect the promising young striker mentally.

“Pitso Mosimane benching Mohamed Sherif and replacing him with Walter Bawalya will affect the player mentally,” Belal told KingFut.

“Mosimane also put Bwalya under a lot of pressure because the player is now required to score goals. Sherif shone and scored goals, and putting him on the bench will destroy him.”

Al Ahly can do well at the Fifa Club World Cup

Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly are due to participate in the upcoming Fifa Club World Cup. The tournament is scheduled to take place between 01 and 11 February 2021 in Qatar.

“Al Ahly is a big team, they already won the bronze medal before and there are African teams that reached the Club World Cup final. Al Ahly is able to win the Club World Cup title, nothing is impossible in football,” – Belal added.

Bayern Munich (Europe), Ulsan FC (Asia), Tigres (CONCACAF) and Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly (Africa) have all booked their spots at the tournament while Al Dhuail (Qatar) will act as the host club. The South American participant will be determined at the end of the month.
