Severe Weather Alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
- A yellow warning for wind where high sided vehicles are likely to be blown over (N1 & N2) Central Karoo and Cape Winelands in the Western Cape.
- A yellow warning for wind and waves leading to difficult in navigation at sea off the coast between Table Bay and Cape Agulhas until Sunday morning.

ADVISORIES:
- A heat wave with persistently high temperatures is expected over the Lowveld areas of Limpopo and Mpumalanga from tomorrow (Saturday) until at least Monday.
Gauteng:
Temperature: Fine and warm.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.
Mpumalanga:
Temperature: Fine in the evening, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot but very hot in the Lowveld.
Limpopo:
Temperature: Fine and hot to very hot but extremely hot in the Lowveld and Limpopo Valley, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.
North-West Province:
Temperature: Fine and warm to hot.
Free State:
Temperature: Fine and warm.
Northern Cape:
Temperature: Morning fog along the coast, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate northwesterly become fresh at times in the afternoon.
Western Cape:
Temperature: Cloudy and cool with scattered showers in the extreme west and adjacent interior, otherwise isolated except in the north-east where it will be partly cloudy and warm.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh northwesterly but strong to gale between Cape Agulhas and Table Bay spreading to the Cape Columbine otherwise moderate southwesterly along the south coast.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High.
Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm, but cloudy and windy in the north from late morning until the evening.
The Western Half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be light northerly, becoming moderate easterly in the afternoon.
The Eastern half – Temperature: Cloudy with a slight chance of light rain in places south of the escarpment in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy,
windy and warm, but cool in places along the coast.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be light westerly, becoming moderate to fresh north easterly from late morning.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Cloudy with morning isolated showers and rain in the southeast, otherwise partly cloudy and warm, but hot in places in the north.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly to south-easterly, becoming easterly to north-easterly from the south in the afternoon.
