Severe Weather Alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
- YELLOW (L2) WARNING: Severe thunderstorms with hail, heavy downpours and damaging winds are expected over the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, western parts of the North West, western and central parts of Free State as well as in places over the eastern parts of the Eastern Cape.
- YELLOW (L4) WARNING : Severe thunderstorms with hail, heavy downpours and damaging winds are expected over the south-western parts of the North West, western parts of Free State as well as the north-eastern parts of the Eastern Cape.
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:
- Extremely high veld fire conditions in places over the southern parts of the Northern Cape.

Gauteng:
Temperature: Cloudy in the morning with fog patches on the highveld, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High.
Mpumalanga:
Temperature: Morning fog patches and drizzle over the escarpment where it will be cloudy, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon thundershowers in the west.
Limpopo:
Temperature: Morning fog patches and drizzle over the escarpment where it will be cloudy, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon thundershowers in the south-west.
North-West Province:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon thundershowers but scattered in the west.
Free State:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the north-east.
Northern Cape:
Temperature: Cool in the north-west where it will be partly cloudy in the morning, otherwise fine and warm to hot but partly cloudy in the east with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the north.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-easterly becoming southerly to south-westerly by the afternoon.
Western Cape:
Temperature: Cloudy to partly cloudy along the south-coast and adjacent interior where it will be cool with a chance of morning isolated showers and rain, otherwise fine and warm to hot.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly to south-easterly, becoming southerly to south-westerly north of Cape Columbine by the afternoon.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: very High.
Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Temperature: Cloudy and cool in the south with scattered showers and rain, otherwise fine and warm becoming cloudy with isolated to scattered afternoon thundershowers in the east.
The Western Half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-easterly in the morning, otherwise moderate to fresh south-easterly, but south-westerly in the west at times.
The Eastern half – Temperature: Cloudy becoming partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers from mid-morning.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-easterly, moderating and becoming fresh to strong south-westerly in the south from evening.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Morning fog in places over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy to cloudy and warm. Scattered showers and thundershowers are expected over the southern parts, otherwise isolated except over the north-eastern parts.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh north-easterly, becoming strong in the afternoon.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
