IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:

  1. Yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms with damaging winds, hail, localized flooding and excessive lightning can be expected in places over the northern parts of Kwa-Zulu-Natal and eastern parts of Mpumalanga.

Gauteng:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm to hot.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated over the Lowveld where it will be hot.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and hot to very hot with isolated showers and thundershowers over the southern parts and the Western Bushveld.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the eastern parts.

Free State:

Temperature: Fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the east with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Partly cloudy in the south, otherwise fine warm, but hot in the north.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-easterly.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Partly cloudy to cloudy in the west in the morning, becoming sunny and cool to warm, otherwise cloudy with rain and showers in the east in the morning, but persisting along the south coast and adjacent interior towards the evening.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly along the south coast, otherwise strong.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.

Eastern Cape:

The Western halfTemperature: Cloudy and cool with isolated rain and showers, but scattered in the east, clearing from the west in the afternoon.

The Western Half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be Light southerly becoming southeasterly from the west.

The Eastern halfTemperature: Cloudy and cool with scattered to widespread showers but isolated in the northwest where it will be partly cloudy.

The Eastern halfWind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh south-westerly.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Cloudy and cool but cold in the south-west with scattered showers and thundershowers.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh south-westerly to southerly.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.
