Watch: Parts of Gauteng ‘underwater’ following heavy floods on Sunday
Torrential rains have poured down overnight in Gauteng, submerging vehicles and entire roads in some of the worst-affected regions. Floods and power cuts have been reported in several locations, with northern areas of the province bearing the brunt of nature’s destructive power on Sunday.

Torrents of rain gushed through major commuter routes. Randfontein was hit badly by the storm, making many roads inaccessible due to the subsequent floods. The sharp bursts of precipitation forced residents to adapt quickly, whereas others had no choice but to soldier on and force their way through the walls of water amassing in Gauteng.

Centurion ‘worst affected’ by downpours on Sunday 1 November
No deaths or injuries have been reported following this extreme weather event – but it looks like Centurion has once again been shafted by the downpours. The town is a perennial struggler when it comes to floods, and all-too-familiar service has resumed here. Streets, cars, and walkways have all been submerged underwater this weekend.
