Twitter reacts to Katlego Maboe’s Playboy ads
Twitter recently reacted to the discovery of the TV host and Outsurance presenter Katlego Maboe’s Playboy ads.
Katlego Maboe’s Playboy ads
According to All4Women, the Expresso star has all but disappeared from our television and social media screens as he continues to battle his estranged wife in court. This comes after Maboe was trending on social media after a video of his estranged wife Monique Muller filming his cheating confession went viral in late October. He also confessed that he had given her an STD. Although Maboe said he cheated once, a social media user believed to be Muller’s brother, claimed he had cheated on her several other times, including when she was pregnant.
Maboe took to Twitter amid the storm admitting that he cheated but claimed he doesn’t stand for the abuse of women.
“Truth: I was unfaithful to my partner during a very important time of our lives – an act I regret to this day. We are currently undergoing an unfortunate and painful separation which is being resolved through legal proceedings,” he said.
“I have always and will always stand up against the abuse of women and children – in fact, the abuse of anyone for that matter. In light of the comments made against me, I would like to state that I have never abused my partner,” he added.
Now, his name cropped up on Twitter after fans unearthed some of his marketing images with the fragrance brand, Playboy.
Not photoshopped
Fans soon speculated that it might be photoshopped. But, entertainment commentator Phil Mphela later confirmed that the official campaign has been running since November 2019.
“It’s not photoshopped but the picture is part of a campaign that’s been running since November 2019. Katlego Maboe has been the face of Playboy Signature collection since 2019. These posters have been in stores for just as long.”
Working with Maboe
It is said that other brands have been quick to distance themselves from the presenter. Although Expresso suspended him, pending further investigations, recent SABC marketing materials showed him cropped out of the show’s promotional images.
