1962 | Violence breaks out in Paarl. Poqo members gathered at 02:00 and separated into two groups to attack the prison and police stations in Paarl. Three were shot and died in front of the police station
1977 | The reporter for the Durban Daily News, Wiseman Khuzwayo, was informed that the police were looking for him and he surrendered
1990 | Rebel army troops attempted a coup in Transkei. They attacked the main camp of the army and 18 people were killed including the leader of the coup
