Mboweni is notorious for his cooking skills on Twitter, sharing his kitchen endeavours with his 882 800 followers.
Now it looks like his influence is growing with South African canned fish brand Lucky Star trying to reel him in.
Mboweni often shares his love for Lucky Star products with his Twitter followers. The latest was when he posted a picture of the brand’s pink salmon and said he needed to try it.
The brand retweeted this, stating that it is about to go down…in the kitchen.
Twitter roasts Tito’s chicken
In August Mboweni posted several pictures of his roast chicken cooking from start to finish and Twitter users could not resist roasting his chicken.
Even Mzansi celebrities like entertainer Somizi and rugby captain Siya Kolisi joined in the foodie fun.
Lucky Star also joined in on the humour as they referenced August Alsina’s and Jada Pinkett Smith’s entanglement.
The brand acknowledged Mboweni’s chicken failure but assured him everything would be better now that he is “back home” with Lucky Star.
Mboweni’s love affair with garlic
One of the key ingredients in many, if not all, Mboweni dishes is garlic. His love for garlic is so famous that Tweeps have tease him for being the Minister of Garlic.
British celebrity chef Nigella Lawson recently posted a picture of her chicken with 40 cloves of garlic. That was all it took for South Africans to step up and say Mboweni may be on to something.
He is aware of everyone’s scrutiny of his garlic and so is Lucky Star, so it decided to supply Mboweni with a few recipe
