‘The truth will out’: Mmusi Maimane drops spicy reaction to DA misfortune

Former DA leader Mmusi Maimane has dipped his toes into the waters of controversy on Wednesday, weighing in with his take on the John Moodey drama unfolding within the opposition party. The DA’s Gauteng leader sensationally quit his role earlier today and took several swipes at the party in the process.

The DA has since hit back at their outgoing representative, who spent 22 years on the frontline with the blues. However, Moodey has blasted the Helen Zille faction of the movement for ‘trying to create a new apartheid’. It’s been an ugly, messy divorce – and just for good measure, it seems like the ex has got involved:

Mmusi Maimane went one step further in his spicy reaction, flexing his new project with the One SA Movement. He states that he is currently working to ‘build the future South African children deserve’:

“Soon or late. The truth will out. As for me, I am focused on moving forward with wisdom and building a South Africa my children and your children deserve. I believe that the One SA Movement is the vehicle that will achieve that.”

Will John Moodey join Herman Mashaba and Action SA?

But have we seen the last twist or turn in the John Moodey saga? It was rumoured that the DA Gauteng leader would ditch the party to join Herman Mashaba’s new outfit, Action SA. Moodey said that the dismissal of Mashaba – as well as that of Mmusi Maimane – was choreographed by Helen Zille and her supporters ‘in the shadows’.

But that doesn’t mean we will be seeing John Moodey abandon ship and hop on-board with his former colleague. The politician is turning his back on this industry, and told the media he is seeking a venture in the corporate world now.
