‘Chasing the Sun’, ‘Legacy’ and more major premieres sizzle on DStv this September

September not only welcomes a new season, lively flowers and fresh beginnings, but on DStv, the month also welcomes the arrival of rich new local and international content to suit every occasion. With major local premieres including Legacy, Chasing The Sun and Inconceivable; in addition to fresh international arrivals in Power Book II: Ghost and A World without NASA, Spring is looking a whole lot brighter for DStv viewers.

Here is a selection of local and international highlights from across DStv’s channels.

Legacy S1 (Drama)

Monday- Thursday starting 21 September on M-Net (DStv Premium*, Channel 101) at 19:00

In this epic, new local telenovela, expect high-drama and intrigue as we follow the conflicts that arise in an upmarket investment empire established by Sebastian Price (played by veteran theatre and film actor Deon Lotz). Sebastian, now a silver fox approaching retirement has to prepare his family to take over the reins, but who will it be? And, at what cost? Of course, the power struggle turns nasty quickly, leading to a web of betrayal, secrets, lies and revenge. Featuring an A-list cast featuring Safta winning actress Katlego Christopher, veteran TV villain Michelle Botes, leading lady Mary-anne Barlow and Homeland actor Anton David Jeftha; this M-Net first is not to be missed.

Chasing The Sun (Documentary)

Starts Sunday, 27 September on M-Net (DStv Premium, Channel 101) at 18:00

The Springboks win at the 2019 Rugby World Cup remains a powerful memory, but the story behind the triumphant victory is perhaps even more remarkable. This must-watch five-part docuseries made in collaboration with the Springboks, offers in-depth conversations and insider info from the coaches, players and supporters. Chasing the Sun is no ordinary story, it is one about changing fortunes and changing mindsets, about pressure and hope, about recognising the power of inspiration and learning what representation truly means. Single Wives SA S1 (Reality)

Starts Thursday, 3 September on M-Net (DStv Premium, Channel 101) at 18:00

A sensitively delivered, local version of the popular international dating show Single Wives will be premiering this September. Single Wives SA will zoom in on six previously married women who have been unlucky in their search for love. They embark on an expert-led journey of self-discovery and transformation which will give them real-life tools to possibly find love. Will the experts Justin Cohen and Mapaseka Mokwele be able to guide these to finding their ‘forever’?

Inconceivable S1 (Drama)

Starts Thursday, 3 September on M-Net (DStv Premium, Channel 101) at 20:00

This must-see female-driven local drama series features a fresh mix of exceptional local personalities, including the talents of popular actor Anel Alexander, Safta winner Carine Rous, stand-up comedian and radio DJ Nina Hastie and telenovela veteran Refilwe Madumo. The drama tells the refreshing story of two women who have been best friends since high school and now find themselves at the centre of a circle of friends, all women in their mid-thirties. Together, these working professionals face the challenges of demanding careers and the first years of pregnancy and child-rearing – a balancing act that requires all the superpowers they can muster. Will their friendship be strong enough to withstand life’s raging storms, or will their bonds start to dissolve at the first signs of nasty weather?

The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons – Ever (Reality)

Starring Mary J Blige and Lovell Adams-Gray, “Power Book II: Ghost” picks up shortly after the earth-shattering events of “Power,” as Tariq St. Patrick grapples with a new world order: his father dead and his mother, Tasha, facing charges for the murder her son committed.
